AFA Talent Development Forum
powered by Ikea
Thursday 10th June 2021 in a virtual 3D environment
The objective of establishing such event, which would be organized on an annual basis, is to gather relevant community to work around challenges young people, companies and overall societies are facing due to rapidly changing needs of economy and imperfections of education and labor market.
The central topic of the AFA Talent Development Forum 2021 will be “Talent paradox”.
On one hand, there is an increasing “war for talents” (McKinsey’s coinage) as companies are utilizing different strategies to attract the best talents, while on the other hand, there is a “waste of talent” due to inefficient and ineffective recruitment and retainment practices, but also education system. If we do not use our talents in the best possible way, we will face even larger brain drain, a need to import talents and poorer economy results.
AFA Talent Development Forum will gather 60 speakers including eminent business experts, university professors, ambassadors, representatives of state institutions, NGOs, extracurricular educators… Besides them, perspective students and talents who study in Serbia and abroad will also take part in discussions. Award-winning talents will have the opportunity to speak to relevant experts regarding their future.
Discussions will include a wide range of experiences and perspectives: business perspective (speakers from IKEA, NCR, A1, Delhaize, Addiko, Bambi, AIK, Telenor, Deloitte, IDC, NIS, Infostud…), state perspective (Ministry of Education and Tačka povratka), foreign macro perspective (Ambassador of Canada, Deputy ambassador of Israel, Deputy Ambassador of UAE), academical perspective (professors of Belgrade University, Niš University, universities of Stockholm and Princeton) and finally the perspective of NGOs and extracurricular educators (UNDP, Vojvodina ICT cluster, AmCham, BOŠ, Krojačeva škola, Kampster, Crater studio…)
Furthermore, the audience will have the opportunity to hear how talents are developing in one of the world’s most successful companies. Keynote speaker Sara del Fabro, CEO & Chief Sustainability Officer for Ikea South East Europe, will share her personal career path from a starting position to a chief executive position in Ikea.
Talent paradox, the best talent development practices, jobs and careers of the future, skills for the 21st century, empowering cooperation between universities and businesses – all of these will be discussed on various panels of the first AFA Talent Development Forum. The aim is not only to speak up about talent challenges, but to gather a community which will continuously work towards talent prosperity.
AFA Talent development is a key for the future of labor market and that is why inspiring the whole community to continuously engage in talent must be a priority.
AFA Talent Development is supported by Ikea, NCR, Bambi, Delhaize, Aik bank, A1, Addiko bank.
